PA-Arkema Rilsamid AMNO

To secure ultimate dimensional stability and robust chemical resistance in aggressive fluid environments, Arkema’s Rilsamid AMNO offers an unreinforced polyamide 12 (PA12) matrix with the lowest moisture absorption among all major polyamides. Featuring a density of 1.01 g/cm³ and a melting point of 180°C, this high-performance nylon grade provides excellent low-temperature impact strength and resistance to hydrocarbons. Jucheng Precision, operating under strict ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and IATF 16949 standards, specializes in molding Rilsamid AMNO. Using our in-house 5-axis CNC-machined S136 tool cavities, we control molecular orientation to ensure leak-free fluid connections verified by Zeiss CMM.

Rilsamid AMNO Dimensional Integrity & Low-Temperature Impact Profile

Rilsamid® AMNO is an unreinforced, natural-grade Polyamide 12 resin. Its paraffin-like molecular chains absorb virtually zero environmental moisture, providing outstanding dimensional repeatability in critical dynamic environments:

Physical & Strength Metrics Dry-As-Molded (DAM) Value Performance Advantage for Fluidics
Density & Lightweighting 1.01 g/cm³ The lowest density among all structural polyamides, offering substantial weight savings in automotive and aerospace plumbing lines.
Subzero Unnotched Impact No Break (at -30°C) Maintains exceptional polymer matrix toughness and flexibility, resisting brittle shatter under severe freezing impact.
Moisture Dimensional Swell Water Absorption 0.20% (DAM 24h) Elimitnates hydro-induced dimensional swelling common to PA6/PA66, securing flawless tight-tolerance seals.

Fluid & Dynamic Process Configurations for Rilsamid AMNO

With its high molecular orientation and chemical stability, Rilsamid AMNO processes reliably across technical molding applications:

Molding Technology Operational Configuration & Details
Precision Automotive Fluid Connectors Excellent. Highly optimized for quick-connect fuel couplers, vacuum line fittings, pneumatic hoses, and urea pipeline connectors requiring extreme hydrocarbon resistance.
Biocompatible Medical Catheters & Tubing Excellent (via AMNO MED grade). Perfect for thin-walled minimally invasive surgical catheters, diagnostic fluid guides, and surgical bobbins complying with USP Class VI.
Dynamic Wear-Resistant Guides Excellent. Highly suitable for structural sliding blocks, dynamic silent gears, cable guides, and dynamic wear washers in sports gear and aerospace fittings.

Rilsamid AMNO Scientific Molding Requirements

While PA12 has the lowest moisture absorption among polyamides, its high molecular weight requires precise gate placement and thermal uniformity to prevent pressure drops and weld line separation:

1. S136 Mirror-Polished Molds (Weld Line Optimization)

Due to PA12’s low viscosity, gate placement is key to preventing weld line separation on thin-walled couplers. Jucheng’s tooling division uses premium S136 stainless steel hardened to 48–52 HRC, mirror-polished on our 5-axis CNCs. This ensures dynamic fluid components release cleanly without drag marks.

2. Low Shrinkage Dimensional Control

Rilsamid AMNO exhibits low and predictable shrinkage (0.50% to 0.70%). We machine balanced cooling circuits directly into core blocks using conformal geometries to optimize crystallization variables and maintain micro-tolerance diameters.

3. Precise Melt & Die Temperature Controls

Processing melt temperatures are maintained between 210°C and 260°C (410°F to 500°F). Mold temperatures are kept at 20°C to 60°C (68°F to 140°F) using pressurized water heaters to maximize mechanical toughness and prevent flash.

4. Desiccant Pre-Drying Protocol

Raw polymer must be dried in desiccant hopper dryers at 80°C–90°C (176°F to 194°F) for 4–6 hours to ensure moisture levels remain strictly below 0.05% to avoid hydrolytic splay and bubble formation.
