Molding an optical-grade, medium-viscosity resin like Panlite L-1250Y requires precise mold temperature control and zero-moisture drying to protect optical clarity:

  • Pristine Optical Polishing (S136 steel): Microscopic tool marks on core or cavity surfaces will scatter light, causing optical haze. Jucheng’s tooling division uses premium S136 stainless steel mold cavity inserts, mirror-polished to a high level, ensuring parts emerge with flawless, glass-like clarity.
  • Desiccant Drying & Splay Prevention: Wet PC is highly susceptible to hydrolytic polymer chain fracture, destroying mechanical strength and causing splay or silver streaks. We dry raw resin in desiccant hopper dryers at 120°C (248°F) for 3–4 hours, keeping moisture strictly below 0.02%.
  • Low Internal Stress (Molding Temperatures): Processing barrel temperatures are maintained between 280°C and 320°C (536°F to 608°F). Mold temperatures are kept at 80°C to 110°C (176°F to 230°F) to ensure maximum gloss and reduce residual internal molding stresses.
  • Shrinkage & Warpage: Panlite L-1250Y exhibits low and highly uniform shrinkage (0.5% to 0.7%). We machine balanced, conformal cooling circuits directly into core blocks to speed up heat dissipation, further reducing cycle times and preventing thermal warpage.
