DOWLEX 2045G has high molecular weight and a low melt index (1.0 g/10 min), which increases melt viscosity and requires tight process controls:
- Managing High Melt Viscosity: Due to its low melt index, DOWLEX 2045G requires higher injection pressures and customized runner layouts to prevent high shear stress. We design generous sprue sizes and rounded gates to facilitate smooth material entry without surface splay.
- Melt & Mold Temperature Control: Barrel temperatures are kept at 210°C–250°C (410°F to 482°F) to ensure homogeneous melting. Mold temperatures are managed between 20°C and 50°C (68°F–122°F) using pressurized cooling loops to optimize crystallization.
- Conformal Cooling & Shrinkage: Volumetric shrinkage runs from 1.5% to 2.5%. Jucheng’s tooling division uses 5-axis CNC machines to mill uniform, balanced cooling circuits directly into core and cavity inserts, preventing uneven cooling and part warping.
- Optimizing Mold Release: Because LLDPE is highly tough and can stick to mold walls, deep structural walls require highly polished draft angles (minimum 1.5° to 2°). We use premium S136 stainless steel mold cavity inserts to secure clean, scuff-free ejection.
