PE-Dow HDPE DMDA-8007
PE-Dow HDPE DMDA-8007 is a high-density polyethylene homopolymer characterized by a narrow molecular weight distribution, engineered by Dow to deliver high modulus, low odor, and excellent warp resistance. With a density of 0.967 g/cm³ and a melt index of 8.3 g/10 min, this grade is the industry standard for structurally rigid crates, totes, cases, and beverage caps. Jucheng Precision, under ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality frameworks, optimizes the molding of DMDA-8007 to eliminate structural warping. Backed by 35+ advanced injection presses and five-axis tooling, we configure precise, balanced cooling geometries, delivering highly uniform structural parts verified by Zeiss CMM inspection.
Dow HDPE DMDA-8007 Performance and Rigidity Profile
DOW™ HDPE DMDA-8007 NT 7 is a homopolymer Polyethylene characterized by a narrow molecular weight distribution, offering a superior balance of stiffness and low odor for load-bearing containers:
| Physical & Structural Property | DMDA-8007 Typical Value | Industrial Molding Advantage |
|---|---|---|
| Stiffness Modulus | Flexural Modulus 1410 MPa | Delivers heavy-duty stacking strength and high load-bearing capacity for agricultural and logistical totes. |
| Warpage Resistance | Narrow Molecular Weight Distribution | Reduces flow orientation and internal stress during the cooling phase, providing excellent flat surfaces without twisting. |
| Low Odor & Food Safety | FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 Compliant | Low volatile emission profile ensures zero plastic odor, making it highly safe for food containers and beverage bottle closures. |
Structural Process Adaptability for DMDA-8007
With a Melt Index of 8.3 g/10 min, Dow DMDA-8007 is highly specialized for large-scale, high-pressure injection molding operations:
| Process Configuration | Molding Compatibility & Practical Execution |
|---|---|
| Heavy-Duty Industrial Molding | Excellent. Perfectly optimized for large-scale structural parts like stackable transport cases, industrial crates, pallets, and recycling bins. |
| Beverage & Pharma Closures | High. Highly compatible with multi-cavity capping molds, providing highly precise and low-odor threaded closures and container caps. |
| Structural Foam Molding | Good. Supports foaming agents smoothly during injection, further reducing weight while maintaining structural packing stiffness. |
PE-Dow HDPE DMDA-8007 Tooling & Warpage Prevention Guide
While DMDA-8007 resists warpage due to its narrow molecular weight, its high density means that volumetric shrinkage is still high. Our engineering team utilizes the following controls:
- Advanced Cooling Design (Conformal Cooling): Due to a high shrinkage rate (1.5% to 2.5%), large structural parts are prone to cooling stress. Jucheng’s tooling division designs robust, balanced cooling paths, using our 5-axis CNC machines to mill uniform water lines across the mold cavity, preventing uneven thermal contraction.
- Molding Temperature Controls: Melt temperatures are managed at 200°C–250°C (392°F to 482°F). Mold temperatures are kept at 20°C–40°C (68°F–104°F) using water chillers to ensure fast crystallization and avoid sticking to core parts.
- Balanced Gate Configuration: Large industrial crates require multi-gate configurations. Our engineering team conducts DFM simulations to balance flow fronts, preventing high shear stresses and localized weak weld lines at rib intersections.
- Ejection Draft Angles: Because HDPE DMDA-8007 is exceptionally rigid, we design draft angles of at least 1.5° to 2° on all deep structural ribs. This prevents scratch marks and high ejection stresses on polished mold walls.
Key Application Fields for PE-Dow HDPE DMDA-8007
- Logistics & Warehousing: Heavy-duty stackable storage crates, agricultural harvest trays, logistics pallets, material cases, and industrial bins.
- Beverage & Food Packaging: Injection molded carbonated beverage bottle caps, wide-mouth container lids, and low-odor food crates.
- Pharmaceutical Closures: Sterile caps and closures for healthcare, medical device secondary packaging cases, and non-sterile diagnostics organizers.
