ABS-LG Chem HF380

ABS-LG Chem HF380 is an advanced high-fluidity acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer engineered by LG Chem, specifically designed to fill highly intricate, thin-walled, and large-area cavities. Boasting an outstanding melt volume-flow rate of 40 g/10 min (at 220°C/10kg) and a density of 1.04 g/cm³, this grade resolves standard ABS flow limitations while preserving excellent mechanical balance and impact toughness (Izod 24 kJ/m²). Jucheng Precision, under IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality frameworks, specializes in molding LG HF380 for high-yield runs. Supported by our 5-axis CNC-machined conformal cooling tools, we shorten cycle times and eliminate knit lines, verified by Zeiss CMM inspection.

LG Chem ABS HF380 Fluidity and Toughness Profile

LG Chem HF380 is a high-fluidity ABS product designed specifically for injection molding of complex parts, offering a well-balanced mechanical and thermal performance:

Property Standard LG Chem HF380 Value Molding & Assembly Advantage
Ultra-High Fluidity MFR 40 g/10 min (220°C x 10kg) Enables smooth, low-pressure cavity filling of complex multi-cavity electronic shells and thin-walled parts, significantly reducing cycle times.
Impact Strength Izod Notched Impact 24 kJ/m² Retains exceptional shock-absorption and drop-test toughness, preventing brittle failure in high-load dynamic structures.
Tensile Stiffness Flexural Strength 72 MPa / Modulus 2600 MPa Provides robust, high-hardness structural stiffness, allowing down-gauged walls down to 1.2mm without structural bending.

Process Compatibility for High-Fluidity ABS HF380

With outstanding melt fluidity, LG Chem HF380 processes exceptionally fast inside multi-cavity hot runner molds:

Molding Technology Process Compatibility & Operational Details
Thin-Wall Electronics Molding Excellent. The primary process for HF380. Perfect for thin-walled copier housings, smart-home dashboards, and complex internal ribs under 1.5mm.
Complex Rib Assemblies Excellent. The high flow index ensures complete, void-free filling of intricate structural reinforcing ribs, preventing localized weakness.
Insert & Multi-Cavity Molding Excellent. Allows smooth encapsulation of delicate electronic sensors and copper terminals without high shear stress.

ABS-LG Chem HF380 Tooling & Cycle Time Optimization Guide

Molding an ultra-high fluidity resin like LG HF380 requires strict control of parting line clearances to prevent flashing, alongside thorough drying to prevent splay:

  • Micron-Level Flash Control (Tool Precision): Because HF380 has high flow capabilities, the molten resin can easily seep into mold parting line gaps, causing unsightly flashing. Jucheng’s tooling division uses 5-axis CNC machines to achieve extremely tight tolerances, keeping mold clearances strictly within 0.01mm on premium S136 stainless steel mold cavity blocks.
  • Eliminating Moisture Splay: ABS is hygroscopic. We pre-dry the raw resin in desiccant hopper dryers at 70°C–80°C (158°F to 176°F) for 2–3 hours. This completely eliminates moisture-induced silver streaks and preserves high tensile strengths.
  • Melt and Mold Temperature Control: Processing barrel temperatures are maintained between 200°C and 230°C (392°F to 446°F). Mold temperatures are kept at 40°C to 80°C (104°F to 176°F) to ensure uniform surface gloss and prevent residual thermal stresses.
  • Conformal Cooling for Short Cycles: Highly fluid resin fills cavities rapidly, meaning cooling is the cycle bottleneck. We machine balanced, conformal cooling circuits directly into core blocks to speed up heat dissipation, further reducing cycle times.

Key Application Fields for ABS-LG Chem HF380
